Questar Announces New Hierarchy Mapping Application
Questar's Organizational Insights Group (OIG) is pleased to announce the release of its new online Hierarchy Mapping tool. The tool is the latest addition to Questar's web-based survey system. The Hierarchy Mapping feature allows organizations to quickly and easily map the relationship between current and historical demographic variables in order to get correct trending data in their reports.
Organizational structures change frequently. Divisions, departments, and locations move, split and are combined as organizations seek to become more efficient and effective providers of goods and services. Organizational databases may not accurately reflect these changes. Accurate mapping ensures an "apples to apples" comparison of current and historical data so that report recipients can trust any changes they see.
Located on Questar's web portal, the new tool is highly intuitive. Organization coordinators select the hierarchy they wish to map from a drop-down list of demographic groups. The current and historical breakouts are listed side-by-side. They simply click on a current group, check its historical match and connect them with the click of a button. They can also remove an existing mapping, or clear all mapping. Color-coding indicates which groups have yet to be mapped, and a handy grid (which can be printed or copied to Excel) provides a picture of the mapped organization.
Anna Erickson, Director of Consulting Services for Questar/OIG, believes that the Hierarchy Mapping addition to Questar's suite of on-line tools will be welcomed by many organizations, large and small. "This tool makes it so easy to get accurate mapping for displaying historical data. Our clients love the intuitive interface and powerful capabilities." Jeff Caron, Software Development Manager for Questar/OIG, added, "This tool represents an excellent addition to our suite of products. It allows clients to be directly involved in maintaining their survey reporting integrity by managing trend mapping in a way that feeds into the report generation process."
